“70 years after the murder of six million Jews, Iran’s leaders threaten to destroy my country, to murder my people and yet the response from this body, from nearly every one of the governments represented here, the response has been absolutely nothing, utter silence. Deafening silence.” — Benjamin Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to the stage at the United Nations on Thursday to stand defiantly against the UN’s support of the Iran Nuclear Deal. Netanyahu gave a beautiful and poignant speech recapping his nation’s tumultuous history and the many attempts by outsiders to destroy his people. He reminded the United Nations that even though great empires like Rome and terrible evils like the Nazis had done their best to destroy them… Israel survived and their enemies did not. He also warned them that much of the capabilities that Iran was readying were not necessarily for Israel who Iran could attack now – the new technology was to attack targets much further away, like Europe and the United States.
